Skandinávie 2011

Skandinávie 2011 - Honza na skále

As every spring in the middle of May I answered the calling of the wild and haded north for the forth time. On the road again. Again hitchhiking across Germany to the ferry at Rostock. From Rostock I took the ferry to swedish Trelleborg. On the south the full spring was waiting for me. Roaring rivers, buzzing bees and whispering green trees.

Sandinavia 2011 - Sobi

Back on the place where the time goes by it’s own pace, if at all then backwards – man gets younger. On the place where man wokes up full of energy, purified by fresh air and nature. Hardened by wilderness and healty alternative – hunter(fisherman)/gatherer. Fantastic evenings with hours of alpenglow in undisturbed nature. On my journey to the mountains I passed Skåne, Stockholm where the road turn west to mountains of Harjedalenu. In Harjedalen I helped with reindeers, worked in forrest, rode bikes and boats, fished and hiked on mountains. After that I moved to national park Rogens, where my friend Jakub joined me.

Scandinavia 2011 - Rogens

In Rogens – park full of crystal clear tarns and lakes of glacial origin and pine bonsai trees what looks like captured in storm due to the prevailing winds we spend some weeks. Rogen was created during ice age by glaciers, but now prevails tundra and forrest-tundra. Everything is overgrown by mosses and bryophytes, blueberries and lot of other berries. After few weeks in wooden cabin in Red bay and on boat we decided to hike across the mountains to Norway – national park Femunden.

After all those weeks we didn’t carry much food, but the challenge of pure nature full of fish and all the time on the world won. We trespassed mountain peaks to Norway, where another valley of lakes was waiting for us. We followed descending plateau to lake Femunden. From there our journey led us bit to north and to the coastline, to Namsos where we decided to walk around islands connected by bridges.

Scandinavia 2011 - MořeWe took ferry to region Sømna and after that I said good bye to Jakub and went south to Hardanger for hardvest of fruits. In Hardanger september announced itself by snow storm on the other side of the fjord, on the boarders of Hardangervidda. After hardvest I hitchhiked south through sunlitted colorful forrests and in Larvik i enjoyed few last days of indian summer on sandy beaches. Still with sand in my shoes I managed after some vaxations about size of my backpack took the plane to Prague.
